With the start of the 2023 LPL Spring Split roughly 12 hours away, there’s been some shifts in the odds as more wagers come in. One of these shifts has opened a chance at a bit of value in our eyes, so we’ve decided to make it a free pick for all our readers.

This day 1 matchup between Invictus Gaming and Anyone’s Legend had odds that suggested a near coin flip with IG slightly favored until recently. However, something happened as we got closer to the appointed time for the match. Namely, AL’s odds have shifted fairly drastically to give them a clear edge.
To be honest, we thought the odds were pretty spot on before the shift. We think this will be a competitive series that we give the very slight edge to IG. But that’s no longer what the odds suggest. At -135 odds, AL have been declared the favorites by a decent margin.
We have the fair odds for IG to win at about -105, so we’re happy to take the value here and see how things play out. This is the first series of the season for either team, though, so we suggest only a half of a unit be wagered on this one. The beginning of a season can be rough to predict due to the many variables involved. Will the teams be nervous? Do both teams have a grip on the new meta? Have players gotten better/worse since the end of last season? Etc.
Because of this, we always think it’s better to ease into things until you can get a better handle on where the teams actually are in reality as opposed to on paper. This bet loses over 51% of the time according to the books.
